Our commitment
Safety in Process is committed to making safety-in-process.com usable by as many people as possible, including those who use assistive technology such as screen readers, voice control, or keyboard-only navigation.
Standard we aim for
We design and build the website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. Where a specific component falls short, we treat that as a defect to be fixed.
What this means in practice
- Every page can be navigated with the keyboard alone. Focus is always visible.
- Images have descriptive alt text. Purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Text contrast meets AA thresholds (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and UI components).
- Forms have labels, clear error messages, and accessible error summaries.
- Page structure uses semantic HTML so screen readers can move by headings and landmarks.
Known limitations
We aren't aware of any material accessibility issues at the time of writing. If you find one, please tell us and we will aim to fix it within 20 working days.
How to report an issue
Email accessibility@safety-in-process.com with a description of the issue, the page URL, and (if you're comfortable sharing) the assistive technology you were using. We read every report.
Enforcement
In the UK, website accessibility for public-sector bodies is enforced by the Equality and Human Rights Commission under the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018. We are a private-sector business but hold ourselves to the same standard.
